BBC 2012 – London Work Experience Scheme
Newham together with the other Olympic host boroughs Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Waltham Forest, Greenwich and Barking & Dagenham is offering a work placement scheme between now and the Games in 2012.
Are you 18 or over and love the media? Do you want the opportunity to gain useful work experience? Then the BBC 2012 – London Work Experience Scheme might have a place for you. We have placements in many production and general office environments.
Placement areas include: BBC newsroom, BBC News School Report, Production teams, London BBC 2012 team, BBC Sport Library, BBC London and BBC children.
Requirements
No previous media experience is required however good communication skills are essential for all these placements and you will be tested at interview stage.
You need to demonstrate
- communication (verbal, written, face to face and on the telephone)
- literacy and numeracy at minimum entry level 2
- willing to get involved and be proactive
- internet based research
- confident with technology
- enthusiastic approach
This scheme is aimed at entry level applicants and graduates of any discipline will not be eligible to apply.
Applications
All candidates interested in this work placement scheme will need to be referred to Workplace for a pre screening event. Recruitment takes place every three months so you will need to be available during that period to take up the offer of a work placement.
