Workplace hosts two specialist projects for residents who need extra support to find work.
The Single Points of Access team provides intensive support for unemployed people especially parents. The team offers support to increase confidence, improve skills, write a CV, job search and prepare for an interview and can provide help with childcare and other costs in the first few months of a new job. They deliver their service from a range of locations throughout the borough, including children's centres, libraries, schools and community centres. Call the team to find out which day they are in your local area.
The Mayor's Employment Project team provides a similar range of support which is specially tailored for long term unemployed residents, or people living in workless households. The key aim of this project is to help residents who would like to work, but are afraid of losing their benefits.
