The Training Team are responsible for devising the Workplace training offer, a menu of courses that is closely linked to job opportunities available. The team work closely with employers who advise us of their skills requirements in order to commission training that matches their needs.
In addition, the team are well connected with local partners delivering training, so ensure that local people using our service are well informed of their options. They deliver fully trained, enthusiastic jobseekers to our Workplace recruitment consultants, ready to be placed into jobs.

Mayor's Employment Project Team

The Mayor's Employment Project (MEP) Team offer intense support to long term unemployed residents of Newham. The project was initiated by the Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales, and the MEP support package includes a combination of benefit expertise, independent financial advice and guidance, as well as in depth support to help residents secure and sustain employment.
The team helped 110 residents into work during the first year of the project, and hope to help many more over the next year of delivery.
Single Point of Access Team

The Single Point of Access (SPA) Team deliver employability support that is specifically tailored to parents as part of the East and Southeast London City Strategy Pathfinder which aims to address worklessness and child poverty.
The team deliver their service from a range of locations throughout the borough, including children's centres, libraries, schools and community events.
The team are delivering the project for one year to March 2009 and are on course to achieve over 600 people into jobs during the project lifetime.
Canning Town team

The Canning Town team are based at The Place, and have been delivering Workplace services in the heart of a large scale regeneration area since May 2008.
Services offered by the team include one-to-one employment advice and guidance including job search support; career planning; housing benefit advice; specialist employability advice for parents; and business start up.
Stratford team

The Stratford team are based a stone's throw from the Olympic Park and Westfield shopping centre developments. The team at Stratford include our back office and monitoring teams, as well as the front-line team based on the shop floor.
Services include one-to-one employment advice and guidance including job search support; CV building; career planning; housing benefit advice; specialist employability advice for parents; a Citizen's Advice Bureau advisor; ESOL assessment and referral.
